Kritters 4 Kids (K4K) is a product of Wildlife in Focus, a small not-for-profit group whose mission is to preserve and protect the wildlife and habitats of Texas.
K4K began in 2008 as a way to introduce school children to the wild world around us in South Texas.
It has evolved into a classroom curriculum supplement that fulfills state-mandated testing guidelines.
The task is simple: Inspire a connection between students and the ecoregions of Texas by introducing them to native plants and wildlife so the next generation embraces its role in protecting and conserving it.
These learning units are designed to help classroom teachers in the listed TEKS areas.
They contain lessons, photos, supplemental handouts and other aides.
These are constantly evolving and expanding to keep current and to expand toward a S.T.E.A.M. integration.
We hope you, the teachers, will help us evolve and keep this fresh. If you have ideas or suggestions on how we can make this better, please use the Feedback area at the bottom of the pages to let us know.
